The 3 Detoxification Baths Your Skin Will Love

1. Clay Detox Bath: Loaded with Bentonite clay and Epsom salts, this bath is unarguable a feast for the skin. While Epsom salts help in relaxing the muscles to allow better absorption of moisture, the clay cleanses the skin and hydrates it.

  1. Bentonite clay – 1/2 cup
  2. Epsom salts – 1/2 cup
  3. Lavender oil – 10 drops

Instructions: Dissolve the Epsom salts in a warm or hot bath and add the lavender oil. You can use clay in two different ways. Mix the clay vigorously in water until you get a smooth, velvety paste with a plastic spoon. Add the clay paste to the bath and soak for at least 20 minutes.

Add water to clay enough to prepare a thick, smooth paste. Stand in the tub full of water and apply the clay mix all over the body to create a body mask and allow it dry for 5 minutes before sitting down. This provides direct contact with the skin and effectively pulls toxins from the skin. Soak in bath at least 20 minutes. While soaking, use a wash cloth to scrub and remove the remaining clay from the skin.

DETOX BATHS - apple cider vinegar detox bathApple Cider Vinegar Detox Bath: This bath is a great detoxifier for muscle aches and pains experienced due to physical exertion. It is also helpful for those who have Candida issues that affect the skin. An ACV bath draws excess uric acid out of the body, thereby easing gout and fluid retention.

Raw Apple cider vinegar – 2 cups

Instructions: Add 2 cups of pure apple cider vinegar to a tub filled with water of your comfortable temperature zone. Hot water is the ideal choice when it comes to detox baths as it enables the opening up of skin pores, thus scaling up the cleansing process. Stay in the bath for about 45 minutes. Dry yourself off after the bath and stay away from the shower for at least 8 hours.

3.  Hydrogen Peroxide Detox Bath: Sweating is a great way to eliminate toxins and cleanse yourself. While ground ginger promotes your sweating, hydrogen peroxide eliminate any kind of infections that you are having.

  1. Hydrogen Peroxide – 2 cups
  2. Dried Ginger Powder – 1 Tablespoon

Instructions: Fill the tub with warm or hot water and mix in hydrogen peroxide and dried ginger. Soak in tub for at least 30 minutes. Step out and dab dry yourself. Follow up with a little olive oil.

These baths promote detoxification internally too by promoting an increased flow of blood to the liver and kidney, the body’s detox organs. Indulge in simple food and keep yourself hydrated on the day you are indulging in any of these detox baths.
