CLEAN JEANS
Don’t want to add wear and tear to your favourite jeans? It can be nerve-wracking to wash a nice pair of jeans: There’s no guarantee they won’t shrink or fade. Instead, turn to the freezer when high-quality denim gets smelly. Place the jeans in a canvas bag and freeze overnight. Low temperatures kill bacteria from skin cells that cause odour.
MAKE CANDLES LAST LONGER
Premium candles come at a premium price, and no one wants to spend that money on something that burns out quickly. Extend the life of your candles by freezing them before burning; this works especially well on long, skinny types.
UNSTICK PLASTIC WRAP
Plastic Wrap loses it’s static cling when placed in the freezer. It will attach to any bowl or plate that needs covering, but eliminates it sticking back on itself. You may keep the plastic wrap in freezer and remove it whenever needed and place it back in after use.
REOPEN SEALED ENVELOPES
To open a sealed envelope without ripping it to pieces, place it in a plastic bag and freeze for one to two hours. Take it out and immediately open with a knife or letter opener. Once it has reached room temperature, re-set the adhesive with moisture.

Get rid of dust mites by putting your stuffed animals, pillows, bed sheets, and blankets in a plastic bag and freezing them overnight. Then, wash them with extra hot water for a thorough clean.
DEBUG WOODEN ANTIQUES
You found a beautiful antique wood bowl at the neighbourhood flea market. Your one concern: Could it contain hidden bugs? Many antique wooden items harbour woodworm, a pest that breeds in and chews through wood, sometimes leaving holes. Place the item in a freezer for a few weeks to kill woodworms and their eggs.
SHARPEN EYELINER THE RIGHT WAY
Wasting a chunk of your favourite eyeliner to sharpening is a bummer. Chilling your pencil before you grind away helps you achieve a sharp point with less breakage and waste.
STORE SEEDS
If you have leftover seeds, preserve them until next growing season by storing them in the freezer. Check that the seeds are thoroughly dry and place in an airtight container to freeze. Allow to thaw completely before planting.
