7 ESSENTIAL STEPS TO FOLLOW IN YOUR SKIN CARE ROUTINE

7 ESSENTIAL MORNING SKIN CARE ROUTINEAfter waking up in the morning what do you do? What is your daily morning routine? Usually many people as soon as they wake up tend to get ready in hurry. You wake up, brush your teeth, take bath, prepare and eat breakfast, get ready and then rush out to your office, isn’t it?

If so then you are not following a proper morning routine and doing only bad to your skin. Here is a simple regime everyone must follow every day for better skin health.

  1. Drink Water

You didn’t drink water since last 8 or more hours; so your body and skin is dehydrating. So first thing you need to do is to drink some water. Your skin should flush out all the toxins and water helps you in this. For better results you can add a teaspoon of honey to lukewarm water and drink it. To cleanse your body from inside, you can also squeeze some lemon juice to it and drink it regularly. This way you are helping your body and your skin by proving better hydration.

  1. Exercise

It is not a good idea to avoid physical activity. In order to eliminate toxins through the skin it is important to sweat and this is possible by exercising. Indulge in activities like yoga, weight training, etc. This will definitely clean your skin from inside and give you a natural glow.

  1. Cleanse and Face Wash

Choose a good cleanser based on your skin type and skin problem. Cleanse your face well and then wash with a mild face wash. This is called double cleanse. If you want you can just use a face wash and use the cleanser in the evening but washing face in the morning is very important. For combination and oily skin salicylic acid or glycolic acid is recommended as an ingredient in the face wash or cleanser. It works for clogged pores as well. Those with pigmented skin should use cleansers with vitamin C. Don’t forget to wash hands before washing your face since by doing this you are first eliminating the dirt and grime from hands which will reach your face soon.

  1. Exfoliate

Though this is not a step to indulge in your daily routine, it must be done twice a week. Those with dry skin and pigmented skin are asked to exfoliate gently every day since usually dead skin forms easily on dry skin and pigmented skinned people has dead skin layer which should be removed. You can use a gentle scrub or make one yourself that shouldn’t be harsh on the skin. You can also use a textured cloth to slough away dead skin while cleansing and avoid using a scrub. Still you should scrub at least twice a week.

  1. Tone

Many people skip this step of toning. You lose the natural pH of the skin while cleansing. Toner is required to close the pores and balance the pH of your skin. You can use a gentle toner such as rose water if you don’t want to spend much on this product. You can also make toner at home yourself. Just dip a cotton ball in it and dab gently all over face.

  1. Moisturize

It is an essential step which many people still skip especially those with oily skin. Choose a moisturizer that suits your skin type and that which solves your skin problem. Oily skinned people may not need moisturizer since their skin forms it naturally but still it is recommended to use a good serum instead of lotions and creams. Serums get absorbed into the skin easily without clogging the pores while lotions and creams provide excess moisture and clog pores sometimes. Dry skinned people can easily go for lotions and creams.

  1. Sunscreen

Apply a good sunscreen with minimum SPF 15 15 minutes before stepping out. Choose a cleanser based on your skin. Dry skinned people may like to get a moisturizing sunscreen cream or lotion but a gel based oil free sunscreen is best for oily skinned people.
