Potato contains vitamin A, C, B which helps to reduce premature ageing on your face and also avoid wrinkles and pigmentation that develop as the skin ages.

Raw potato works well in lightening pigmentation in the skin. It also lightens the scars and acne spots. Potatoes are natural anti-ageing agents and hence considered one of the best in treating skin problems.

Since potatoes contain enzymes that lightens the pigmentation, any skin discoloration and also even out skin tone. They maintain a healthy glowing skin and prevent a host of skin problems.

Rice flour makes a good exfoliating agent as it gently scrubs away the dead and flaky skin to reveal younger looking and even toned skin.

Yogurt has sebum-balancing properties that gradually make your skin less-oily. The good bacteria in it also help fight acne-causing microbes.

Regular use if this mask can alleviate hyperpigmentation and restore your skin’s original color. Hyperpigmentation is one of the main causes of uneven skin tone.

RECIPE FOR DIY POTATO MASK FOR MILD DISCOLORATION:

Things you need:

  • 1 tablespoon grated or blended potato,
  • 1-2 tablespoons of yogurt and
  • 1 tablespoon of rice flour.

In a bowl, add in 1 tablespoon of grated or blended raw potato followed by 1-2 tablespoons of yogurt and 1 tablespoon of rice flour.

Give the mixture a very good mix. You can add in more yogurt or buttermilk if the consistency seems dry.

Mix the face mask well and apply onto the face avoiding area around the eyes. Make sure you apply it thoroughly around the mouth and nose where discoloration usually happens.

Keep the mask for good 30 minutes. Spray some rose water onto your face to wet the mask and begin massaging it with light hands to exfoliate.

Do this for approx. 3-4 minutes and rinse off the face mask. Pat dry and apply a god quality moisturizer. If you have dry skin, you can also add in a bit of honey.
