HOW TO USE GINGER FOR COMMON COLD COUGH AND MIGRAINE

With the change in weather, comes common cold. Seasonal colds and allergic colds are certainly not the same as allergic ones are caused year round due to dust, pollen grains etc. Another such problem is migraines that cause a headache and temporary blindness in severe cases. Ginger is effective for these two problems and regular usage of the herb has long term effects. Here are several ways to use ginger for common cold and migraine:

ACV GINGER DRINK

To make this, you need 1 teaspoon of organic apple cider vinegar, 1 tablespoon honey, 1inch ginger sliced and 1 cup water. Add ginger slices to a cup of hot water and steep for 5 mins. GINGER TEA

Migraine suffers may find relief with ginger tea. Ginger appears to block the effects of prostaglandins, substances that may cause inflammation of the blood vessels in the brain, leading to migraines. GINGER BATH

Ginger bath is a great remedy to fight cold/cough and the ginger-infused steam from hot water helps with the inflammation related to migraine too. Add 1 cup each of baking soda and Epsom salt to a bathtub filled half with warm water. Mix in 3 tsp of ground ginger and stir thoroughly with your hand. GINGER MILK

To make delicious ginger milk, you need 1 cup whole milk, 1 tablespoon white/brown sugar and 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger or ginger powder. Combine milk, sugar, and ground ginger in a saucepan; cook over medium heat until milk becomes foamy, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat; strain through a fine-mesh strainer into a mug. Consume warm. GINGER RICE

Regular consumption of ginger rice prevents colds and coughs and keeps migraines at bay. Cook basmati rice. When you take the lid off the pan, quickly stir in finely chopped garlic, little ginger powder, green chillies and fresh cilantro leaves- the burst of flavour and fragrance will drive your senses crazy with desire! Not only will it improve the taste of rice but will also improve your immunity and prevent cold and migraine.
