I recently had a really bad accident while I was driving my bike and was left with a very bad blue-black inflammation and swelling on my leg. Bruises can be a cause of many reasons and it is important to treat it inside out so that there is no blood clot or swelling for longer.

Try boiling some water with salt and then wetting a washcloth and putting it on the bruise as hot as you could b Repeat this everyday before going to bed. In 3-4 days the bruising should have been lightened! Depends upon the intensity of bruise.

Cabbage can help in healing the bruise, as well as reducing the swelling. Apply macerated leaves of cabbage to accelerate the healing process.

Castor oil – Use castor oil to massage the area. Massaging the bruise helps to break down the blood clots and helps improve blood circulation around the bruised area, which also improves the lymphatic process.

Take cold water and put several drops of lavender oil in it. Soak a cloth in this water and apply it on the bruise. Lavender oil will reduce the swelling and cold water will provide relief in pain.

Boil a couple of eggs and peal the egg when cooked and roll it where there is a bruise and roll it back and forward. This will also work in bringing down the swelling.

Take fresh parsley and crush it. Apply it on the bruised area. This will make the bruise go away faster.

Eat fresh and raw garlic. Consume at least 2 cloves of it. This will heal up the bruise really fast, as it contains antibiotic properties.

Take 1 tablespoon of lard and ½ tablespoon of salt and mix them. Apply it on the bruise. This will prevent the bruise from getting darker.

Take some mullein flowers and steep them in olive oil. Let this oil to reach the room temperature and then, apply it on the bruise. This will help to let the bruise fade away, and decrease swelling.

Keep the ice cube on the bruise for 10 minutes for an immediate relief. Alternatively, if an ice pack is not available, then soak a cotton cloth in ice cold water and place it on the affected area.

Vinegar has the efficiency to drive away the blood that has pooled in the affected area. Once bruises appear, mix vinegar with warm water and apply it on the affected area to treat blood clot instantly and lighten the bruise mark.
