GARLIC OIL RECIPE, BENEFITS AND USES

Filled with antioxidants and other healthy nutrients, garlic oil is a fresh and flavourful ingredient to add to your food and your cooking oil and also the best you could choose for your wellbeing! Garlic oil has tons of benefits for your skin, hair and health.

GARLIC OIL RECIPE, BENEFITS AND USES

Garlic oil is manufactured by two methods – By steam distillation of fresh crushed garlic and also by soaking chopped garlic in vegetable oil. Garlic oil made by steam distillation is more concentrated and pure and it also more expensive. The oil made by the second method, on the other hand, is milder and less concentrated and this can easily be made at home. Here is how to make garlic oil-

INGREDIENTS
1 head garlic
1 cup extra-virgin olive oil

DIRECTIONS

Smash and peel cloves of garlic. Transfer to a medium pot, add olive oil, and heat over medium-low until bubbles form around garlic, 3 minutes. Let cook 10 minutes, reducing heat to low if garlic begins to brown. Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature.

This garlic-infused olive oil adds a kick to marinades and dressings. It will also taste good tossed with roasted potatoes or grilled veggies or covering roast chicken, steak or fish.

REMEDIES:

SKIN INFECTIONS

Garlic, known for its antifungal and anti-inflammatory properties, fights many skin conditions like psoriasis, athlete’s foot, ringworm, warts, corn, etc. Sprinkle a few drops of mildly heated garlic oil on a cotton pad and rub it on the affected areas of your skin. Repeat the application two to three times a day.

BLEMISHES

Garlic oil might not be the main ingredient in your drugstore acne medication, but garlic makes a great natural remedy to banish unsightly blemishes. Its antioxidants kill bacteria, so rub a sliced clove of garlic on the pimple for an effective topical treatment.  Mix garlic oil with mud pack to cure pimples and acne scars on the face.

MOSQUITO REPELLENT

Mosquito does not like the pungent strong odor of garlic which is beneficial in keeping them away! Make a solution of garlic oil, petroleum jelly, and beeswax for a natural repellent or place cloves of garlic nearby.

TOOTHACHE

Garlic is also effective in reducing toothache, thanks to its antibacterial and analgesic properties. Simply put some garlic oil or a piece of crushed garlic clove directly onto the affected tooth and surrounding gum for instant relief. Keep in mind that garlic can be irritating to the gums.

NAIL GROWTH

The secret to strong, healthy nails is moisturized cuticles. Use cuticle oil to treat dry cuticles and brittle nails. Apply a drop of two of the garlic oil to your cuticles and massage it in to soften the cuticles and promote nail growth.

HEALTHY HAIR

Garlic oil contains a lot of nutrients that helps to boost hair growth and texture and fight against many diseases of the scalp. Apply garlic oil topically for healthy hair growth. It can also boost blood circulation to make hair roots stronger and removes toxic substances from the scalp. Massage garlic oil on hair and scalp before going to bed.
