15 UNUSUAL WAYS TO CURL AND STRAIGHTEN YOUR HAIR WITHOUT HEAT

I love curly hair! I have naturally straight hair so I always like it to be wavy or curly. This is a common phenomenon with most of the girls, straight haired girls want curly or wavy hair and curly haired girls desire straight hair! Due to this, girls end up using heat treatments and heating tools which in long run can damage hair and cause split ends. Here are some ways to curl and straighten your hair without using any curling or straightening tools or heat treatments.

15 UNUSUAL WAYS TO CURL AND STRAIGHTEN YOUR HAIR WITHOUT HEATNO-HEAT CURLS:

HAIR BAND CURLS

Hair band curls also called as head band curls are curls made by using a head or hair band. You need to wash and condition your hair and towel dry it. Make sure it is wet but not dripping wet. Wear a hair band around the forehead and section your hair from behind into two parts. Take one front little section and roll it onto the band one time. The next time you roll it, add another section adjacent to it. Go on adding new sections until you finish one side. If left with additional hair, roll it in the band until no hair is left outsider. Do the same for another side and you will have all the rolled up hair in the band. Leave this overnight and leave the band in morning. Shake your hair and you will have beautiful curls. Do not comb.

COCA COLA TIN CURLS

To curl your hair using cocacola cans, you need few cocacola or soda tins/cans and bobby pins. Shampoo and condition your hair as usual and make several sections. Tie each section with a clip while you untie one by one and roll it on the cocoacola can. Secure the hair using bobby pin. Do this for all the sections. Let your hair dry for5-6 hours and remove the cans and bobby pins. You will have beautiful curls! Do not comb using an actual comb or fingers. Simply let it be as it is.

T-SHIRT CURLS

To curl your hair using a t-shirt, grab an old cotton t-shirt and cut off its sleeves if you wish so that they don’t interfere in the process. Shampoo and condition your hair as usual. Towel dry it. Bend down from the waist and finger comb your wet hair downwards. Take a t-shirt and put all the hair inside it. roll the t-shirt and tie a bun; you may secure it using a rubberband. Keep it overnight and remove the t-shirt in the morning. Finger comb your hair and you are done!

BROWN PAPER CURLS

To curl your hair using brown paper, you need a thick brown paper, rubber bands and bobby pins. Cut squares out of the brown paper and roll it into a cylindrical roll securing it with rubber bands. Make several such rolls and keep it aside. Shampoo and condition your hair and towel-dry it. Make several sections and roll each section on the brown paper rolls. Secure the hair/roll using bobby pins. Keep it this way for 4-5 hours and remove the rolls. Finger comb and you are done.

PAPER TOWEL CURLS

You may also use simple paper towels to curl your hair. Shampoo and condition your hair and towel-dry it. Now, take one paper towel and twist it in order to make a paper-rope. Take a section of your hair and roll the hair around the paper towel, tie a knot with the same paper towel and it will remain in place. Keep it this way for 4-5 hours and remove the paper towel ropes. Do not comb.

SOCK BUN CURLS

To curl your hair using sock, you need a new sock or a sock that is washed properly (don’t use an old one as it can make your hair stink!). Cut the toe off your sock and roll it up into a doughnut. Pull your towel-dried hair through the doughnut like you do while tying a pony-tail. Roll the entire pony tail around the doughnut- in and out from the centre and secure the end with a bobby pin if you have stiff hair, or the hair usually stays in place. Keep it overnight and remove it in the morning. Finger comb your hair and you are done!

PIN CURLS

To make pin curls, you only need a lot of bobby pins and some skills. Shampoo-condition your hair like usual and towel dry your hair. Take small sections from your hair and roll it up to the root, secure the curl using a bobby pin. Do this with the entire hair and let it dry for 4-5 hours. Remove the bobby pins and gently finger comb. You are done.

BABY WIPES CURLS

Baby wipes can be used to curl your hair just like with paper towels. The only difference is that you need not shampoo your hair or make it wet since the baby wipes are already wet. Make sure your hair is clean. Take small sections of your hair and roll it around a baby wipe and tie a knot using the same wipe. Do this for entire hair and keep it overnight. Remove the wipes in the morning and gently finger comb.

STRAW CURLS

Straw can be used to make very small and dense curls. Shampoo-condition your hair and towel-dry it. Take out a small section of your hair and roll it on the entire straw neatly. Secure the end with a bobby pin and follow this for the entire hair. Keep it overnight if you are comfortable sleeping with it or simply keep it for 4-5 hours. Take out the straws and you will be surprised with how perfect the curls are.
