Mascara is a key component to making your eyes stand out. Mascara has the ability to not only make your lashes darker, but it also adds thickness and length. Even if you don’t wear any eye shadow or kohl, mascara will make your eyes look attractive, but only if you have applied it in a right way! If you don’t know that correct way to apply mascara, it will draw attention to all the clumps in your lashes due to too much product. These clumps can even dry out after sometime and start shedding which can irritate your eyes.
Knowing how to utilize mascara is just a matter of practice and some great tips.
THE RIGHT MASCARA: There are all different types of mascaras available in the market; all having different mottos- lengthening, thickening, curling etc. they all have different shapes of wands to give your lashes the desired effect. Choose the type of mascara accordingly. Always choose waterproof mascara as they won’t bleed and stay intact. Make sure you buy your mascara from a well-known brand. I always use Maybelline colossal waterproof mascara and it stays all day long with no bleeding even during rainy season.
CURL: Always use mascara at the end of your makeup process. If you desire curvy long lashes, you can use a lash curler tool prior to mascara application. You may warm the tool a bit in microwave for few seconds before using; this will ensure easy curling of lashes.
WIGGLE WIGGLE: Never apply mascara in one go quickly! The secret to perfect even lashes is slow gentle application. Always use more than one layer for those curly long lashes. Start the brush at the base of your lashes and slowly wiggle the brush back and forth while you slowly sweep them up. Also swipe the brush from inner corner of the eye to the outer lashes. After you are done with the initial round of application, let the mascara dry. After the mascara has dried properly, you may repeat the process for second round of application, but no more than two rounds! Or you end up with spidery lashes! Some girls love the spidery lashes look, but it looks tacky and wont suit everybody.
QUICK TIP – THICK LASHES:
Additional tip for girls with thin sparse lashes: You may apply little baby powder on your lashes with cotton after the first coat and then proceed with second coat. This will thicken your lashes and give them a fuller look.
